How to add texture to text

I'am going to show you how I add texture to my text..I'am sure there are other ways to do it..ok so let's get started..

Go to file than new and set the width and height to 1000px and resolution to 100..

I usually like to fill in my background layer with a color I used #747270

Now go to the text tool and pick a big..thick font..I'am using "Rockwell Extra Bold" set to 150

Ok now take the magic wand(the 4th tool down) and hold shift key down and click inside all the letters there should be marching ants inside..

Ok now open the texture you would like to use inside your text..Now drag the texture to the text layer or you can just select all copy than paste into the text layer..

If you need to stretch or shorten  the texture to fit click CTRL+T and adjust.. ok Now on the texture layer right click and pick "Create Clipping Mask".. now hightlighT both text and texture layer by holding the shift button and right click merge layers..That is it!

If you want to add drop shadow or bevel it go down and click the fx button and click drop shadow and adjust to what you like..play around with all the buttons and sliders to your taste..I usually delete my background layer and save as a ps format..

                                                       My final result.....Hope this helps..
